Why a Biblical Worldview is necessary

Part 10 – A Biblical Worldview has the answers to all life’s big questions

The seeds of a biblical Worldview and the Gospel are given to us in Genesis Chapter 1 to 3.  When we are convinced of the six elements presented in these chapters, we are then able to build our life on a firm foundation as we read and learn God’s word.  This learning takes place in our daily devotionals, our daily reading of God’s word, attending Church to hear God’s word expounded, in small groups where we can share our thoughts about what we have seen and heard.

Genesis gives us a basis for answering all the difficult questions of life. It is in Genesis 1-3 where the seeds are planted which answer the big questions of life.  Questions like: Where did everything come from? Why am I here? Who am I? Since God made the world as VERY GOOD, how is it so messed up now? Why do I need Jesus? What is God like? Is there a purpose in life? And, does God have a plan to fix it?

Genesis 1 to 3  provides the categories and the foundation by which we can measure what we believe. It is the foundation which the rest of the biblical text builds on and clarifies.  If we hold and build on this biblical worldview, we can apply these principles to the rest of the biblical text and make sense of the world; our reason for being and all of God’s plan and His purpose. It will provide a foundation to answer the big issues of our time. Interestingly, these chapters clearly lay out the Gospel message of Creation, God, Man, Rebellion and Redemption.  They also give us the categories of a biblical worldview.  There are 6 foundational elements which underpin the full biblical message concerning the glorious Gospel.

The sections of this thesis are broken down into the following 5 categories

  1. Sections 1 and 2 – Give the necessary reasons why we need to build a strong foundation based on a biblical worldview
  2. Sections 3 to 8 describe each worldview point in detail
  3. Sections 9a, 9b, 9c and 9d informs us of four guideposts we have when having a biblical worldview, these guideposts are: We able to see the reality we live in, How we are transformed, How to live in a world where the actual battle is won in spiritual warfare, and it lays a foundation for understanding Truth.
